Edit distance is the number of single-character changes it takes to turn one string into another. This blog measures how far the data industry has moved, and how far a reader has to go to get where they want to be.
The editor has spent the last decade building data pipelines, warehouses, and the dashboards on top of them, and lately the tools that decide who sees the numbers and when.
This blog is where I work out what's changing. Every post is built as a visual story: the charts are live, the diagrams respond to scrolling, and the numbers are either sourced or clearly marked as illustrative.
Opinions are mine. Disagreements welcome.
